I'm looking for the funky, bass charged sample that can be heard in the Mousse T House Mix of Cunnie Williams' Saturday. I suppose it to be something sampled from the end of the 70s, I don't believe that it has been written from scratch and performed especially for Saturday. Does anybody have a hint?
After 4 years I've solved the mystery. The funky, groovy bassline of Cunnie Williams' Sturday has been sampled from the track Perdoni Tenente of Pino D'Angiò. It is composed of 3-4 small pieces cut from the song's intro, phrase and chorus and then arranged together. I've tried it out with Audacity (Audio Editing Software) and I got it exactly the same way as in Saturday. I didn't find it out myself, I've found some hint on the Internet, then tried it out and now I know it to be that one. I've also found some people claiming that it was sampled from Carol Williams' Love is You but that's not the right thing. If you have a little experience with audio editing, give it a try. Get a copy of the original, listen to all its parts without lyrics, select the right pieces, put them together and loop them. It's quite fun!
