As we all know modern house music consists mostly out of sampled disco, funk, northern soul, etc. tracks. If I'am right Mark S. your into making electronic house music. So I thought the following could be a cool project.
Why don't we do an interactive House music track produced by Mark S. and inspired by the readers of Inlounge. Since I'm searching for House originals I myself discovered a lot of tracks which i find very interesting to sample or take melodies from. This could work like this We all make our suggestions and you put the diffrent stages of the song online...we all can tell what needs to be changed or could be better from our point of view. And finally we'll get an end version which is the interactive Inlounge House tune.
So what do you all think about this and specially what's your opinion on this ark S. ??

Definetly a nice idea JR. Though I think the board is still lacking activity. Where are all the registered members?
It would be cool if more ppl would participate and come up with ideas. Yes, I am into production of electronic music so I could take the final production part.
If there is enough interest among the other readers and visitors I will fire up a little project section for this.
I am looking forward to it!!! No Rush...In the Summer time can be used better then spending hours infront of the computer. But we should really try it out...I think it will be an interesting Project so keep it in mind.

Hey JR,
well I still do not have much time on my hands but if you would like to contribute much to this idea (any maybe others will follow?) we could fire up a section in this forum especially for this.
Are there any other people around here who are interested in this project? http://www.inlounge.de And remember: Chuck Norris can divide by zero!

It's a very unique and interesting idea, but pulling it off is what I think the tricky part would be. You did a great job of explaining it, but when/if the process ever kicks in, I think it will be very difficult to keep up with. House Muzik 4 Life!

Hi man,
it is not as tricky as you might think.
For example: Add an extra forum section for this. Moderate the project and split it up into several production steps where for example the first step would be the brainstorming part where anyone could send in ideas for a "main" sample or loop the track should base on. There would be a vote on this to get the final sample that is going to be used then.
The next step would be to find a basic drumset for this loop, then put up a minimalistic loop (drums+sample) where - again - everyone could send in stuff (new parts, riffs, fx, vocals, guitars) to build a refrain. From this point I like this idea a lot BUT: There is a problem with copyright and law issues. I do not know, where samples that people send in come from. If user XY sends in a beatloop that he cut out from a lately released Madonna track or whatever this could really upset a few ppl and would get me into serious trouble. Even if they are from sampling CDs this is not perfectly legal since the person who finally produces the track should have a license for that sampling cd (= bought it).
To avoid this you could do the whole project in a secure forum section that is not available to the public. But in this case people would probably lose interest in registering here since they do not know what they are dealing with and it would kill the "everyone is welcome" aspect of the whole thing.
What do you guys think? http://www.inlounge.de And remember: Chuck Norris can divide by zero!
